Schoolyard Shorts is a play created by Tilkin-Dilkin Studio, from the poetry of Brian Moses, Brian Patten, Barrie Wade, Elizabeth Jennings, Spike Milligan, Judith Viorst and Shel Silverstein, as well as, original poetry written by each actor involved in the production. The play uses poetry as a vessel through which it explores various obstacles of childhood and exposes its young audience to the concepts of fairness, peer pressure, bullying, disability and friendship.
This play by children and for children, is a journey through the ‘politics’ of a schoolyard, with all its ups and downs; positives and negatives; acts of betrayal and acts of valour.
